Modeling Multi-label Recurrence in Data Streams
2019
Most of the existing data stream algorithms assume a single label as the target variable. However, in many applications, each observation is assigned to several labels with latent dependencies among them, which their target function may change over time. Classification of such non-stationary multi-label streaming data with the consideration of dependencies among labels and potential drifts is a challenging task. The few existing studies mostly cope with drifts implicitly, and all learn models on the original label space, which requires a lot of time and memory. None of them consider recurrent drifts in multi-label streams and particularly drifts and recurrences visible in a latent label spa…
Lecture Notes in Real-Time Intelligent Systems
2018
Intelligent computing refers greatly to artificial intelligence with the aim at making computer to act as a human. This newly developed area of real-time intelligent computing integrates the aspect of dynamic environments with the human intelligence. This book presents a comprehensive practical and easy to read account which describes current state-of-the art in designing and implementing real-time intelligent computing to robotics, alert systems, IoT, remote access control, multi-agent systems, networking, mobile smart systems, crowd sourcing, broadband systems, cloud computing, streaming data and many other applications areas. The solutions discussed in this book will encourage the resear…
Source-Target Mapping Model of Streaming Data Flow for Machine Translation
2017
Streaming information flow allows identification of linguistic similarities between language pairs in real time as it relies on pattern recognition of grammar rules, semantics and pronunciation especially when analyzing so called international terms, syntax of the language family as well as tenses transitivity between the languages. Overall, it provides a backbone translation knowledge for building automatic translation system that facilitates processing any of various abstract entities which combine to specify underlying phonological, morphological, semantic and syntactic properties of linguistic forms and that act as the targets of linguistic rules and operations in a source language foll…
Online Principal Component Analysis in High Dimension: Which Algorithm to Choose?
2017
Summary Principal component analysis (PCA) is a method of choice for dimension reduction. In the current context of data explosion, online techniques that do not require storing all data in memory are indispensable to perform the PCA of streaming data and/or massive data. Despite the wide availability of recursive algorithms that can efficiently update the PCA when new data are observed, the literature offers little guidance on how to select a suitable algorithm for a given application. This paper reviews the main approaches to online PCA, namely, perturbation techniques, incremental methods and stochastic optimisation, and compares the most widely employed techniques in terms statistical a…
